A bit of background information about my skills and design experience...

A native to the Western PA, I was introduced to the Lost Wax Casting technique during my high school years in New Castle, PA.  I was inspired by my high school art teachers to pursue art and design as a career and went on to receive my bachelors degree in Studio Arts and Fine Arts.  I found that during my time as an undergrad, I missed creating jewelry as art and found the programs at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. It is there that I have been able to continue learning and exploring this process.

I received my B.A. degree in Studio Arts and Fine arts from the University of Pittsburgh in 1994 and have always had a passion for creating. I have over 10 years combined experience in print media, graphic design and marketing. My knowledge of desktop publishing and graphics starts with a background working in a print shop. This is where I learned the finishing techniques that come after a design job is printed and how important it is to have a layout done correctly. These skills also allow me to design cost effectively within even the most modest of budgets.

After my experience working in the print shop, I was eager to design. I then moved on to work as a graphic designer for a prepress company, designing brochures, creating logos, and various print materials for printers, working with a wide range of clients and formats. After approximately five years in this position, I sought a new challenge and became the Merchandising Coordinator for a fence & iron rail manufacturer. It is there that I began the branding process for the company and its products, creating marketing materials, brochures, signs and displays. This is also where my passion for building materials and remodeling came to my attention.

My next venture would be moving to Virginia in 2002 to be with my husband. This is when I took the role of Marketing Director for a real estate firm and combined my experience of graphic design and marketing with a mix of remodeling, real estate, and the building process.

My husband and I returned to Pennsylvania in 2006 and I am glad to be back in Pittsburgh!
